As a landscape photographer who adores the rugged charm of places like Ireland and Iceland, I found San Daniele to be a delightful albeit different kind of canvas. My stay at this centrally located hotel was accentuated by its culinary offerings, particularly, the local prosciutto, which truly deserves its reputation. Dining in the hotel restaurant, I was transported to a world where flavors meld seamlessly into the surrounding culture. Each bite of the smoked prosciutto brought forth memories from my travels, reminding me of the vibrant food markets back home in Cork. The ambiance was cozy, encouraging leisurely meals as I savored each dish. During my two-day visit, I explored nearby eateries, including Trattoria Al Teatro and Ristorante Farroni, both of which offered culinary adventures that honored the local gastronomy. The hotel staff provided helpful recommendations, adding a personal touch as they shared their insights into the annual “Aria di Festa,” an event that celebrates raw ham, attracting food lovers from all around.
